Is your year going according to plan?

Grace Clarke recently asked me this during our podcast chat, and it got me thinking.

I don’t think I really had a plan. I had more of an intention.

An intention to keep building the portfolio career that I was building in November and early December.

However, heading into the holidays and looking ahead to January 2026, my work pipeline was a little bit more hazy and unclear.

While I was excited about some upcoming conversations and how my work was emerging, my work was far from locked-in.

And as a soloprenuer, I have come to learn: if it is not locked-in, you can’t rely on it.

So what did I do?

And now, my portfolio career looks better than it did in late December, but it is still a fluid situation. And for now, I am OK with that.

What does this look like for you?

Grace Clarke has gone viral for her Personal Annual Planning template

During our podcast chat, I asked her if her year is going according to plan. Below is her answer:

“My year is fully off the rails. Everything that I had set out to achieve, and the way I thought I would do it in January, has not worked.”

However, she is on a recent tear though.

Her AI for Normal People classes continues to gain momentum, and she also selectively works with companies as an AI teacher.

She seems to always be on the bleeding edge of culture and technology, while creating and sharing things along the way. I love this approach, and I am so bullish on Grace.

Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky said “I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been.” And I think that’s how Grace operates.

Do you?
