Hosting repeatable events has changed my life. I have hosted and cohosted events in the past…
But when I hosted my first Podcast Mixer in July 2022, I began to realize things were different this time.
Here is why:
it integrated a lot of things that I wanted to do in my life
podcast guests / speakers enjoyed speaking in front of a curated audience; and
people seemed to like attending the event. This is important haha and also I wasn’t sure if this would be true or not… hello imposter syndrome!
And it was something that I ~could~ regularly do!
As a guest of other repeatable events, I have benefitted from attending them. It’s easier to make friends. You feel more comfortable over time. You know what to expect, etc.
Here are a couple things I have noticed from hosting a repeatable event:
When you invite people to events, you get invited to more events
When you invite people to events, you learn more about your friends
When you meet new people, inviting them to your event is win-win way to build a relationship
As you regularly host, you build momentum and social proof. This makes it a little bit easier to get people to come to your events.
How could hosting a (repeatable) event integrate into things you are already doing? Have any questions about hosting events? Reply back and let me know!
Shoutout to Nick Gray and his book, The 2-Hour Cocktail Party, for educating and inspiring me!
🎧 Episode 269: with Lauren Ducrey
finding wellbeing through poetry
how there is a poem out there for you
how she started writing poetry after doing morning pages
the more personal the poem, the more universal the message
🎧 Episode 268: The Portfolio Life with Christina Wallace
This was a meaningful episode for me. Christina’s 2017 Forbes article was meaningful to me. And how we got to get together IRL to record this was icing on the cake.
In this episode, you will learn:
portfolio career vs portfolio life
how to think about building a business model for your life
why its important to ask if your work and life is making you happy
That’s it for now!
I would love to hear from you on Instagram, having you reply back here, or leaving a comment below!
