Speaking of themesâŚ
I was lucky to talk to Mari Andrew about her 2023 theme âI have everything I needâ and so much more for a recent podcast mixer episode and event.
Below are some incredible unofficial excerpts from Mari Andrew. Please refer to our episode for the actual specific quotes and more. Thank you!
On intuition and what to do:
âlisten to your life, pay attention to your life, listen to your soul. And that's going to be what guides you.â
On cultivating wisdom:
âWe are a culture that has so much information, and so little wisdom. And if we're going to cultivate that wisdom, we have to stop like reaching for information.â
On prioritizing joy:
âLike so many things in life, it's a domino. It's when you are putting your own joy on the calendar and saying, âIâm going to do this at this hour.â It makes you do other things differently⌠If I'm prioritizing my own joy for five minutes, maybe I can prioritize my own joy in other ways.â
On being specific when writing:
âThe more specific you are, the more authentic you are, and the more singular your voices, it's like most people won't like it. But the ones who do connect to it are going to connect really hard. So I always try to think like, I'm just writing for one person right now.â
On her creative writing process:
âSo I would say like the answer that comes to my head, and this is sort of a first draft answer. But just what immediately came up is I don't think I do create from what's currently happening to me. In the sense of, when I write about something, it's always processed. And that means that I might have processed it a second ago. So it might be past, as in it happened at lunch time, and I'm writing it you know in the evening. But it's always processed.... If my life is a potato, then my writing is like a bag of potato chips. It's like the most processed version.â

đ§ Episode 270: Having a Good Enough Job with Simone Stolzoff
Two big ideas from this episode are around:
having a good enough job. Not a job that you are really passionate about. Something that gives you ENOUGH, however you define that right now.
taking a more transactional approach to work. Using and seeing your job as a way to get paid to do what you want and need outside of work, peace of mind, etc. And setting personal boundaries around that. What do you think?
Thatâs it for now!
I would love to hear from you on Instagram, having you reply back here, or leaving a comment below!

PPS: so, this is newsletter number #100. do people celebrate these kind of milestones haha?!?!? either way, thank you for being part of my journey! And I hope you are having an amazing day!
Love this and loved this event. My driving theme for the year is "on my own terms." Thanks again for hosting!
My theme I set as 3 phrases - âTo believe, to be brave & to blossomâ! With balance as an anchor! Half way through the year & they have really helped me. Love yours David & love this share! đĽł
