I have gone back and forth on changing the name… What do you think? Reply back and let me know!
The Portfolio Career podcast has changed my life. It has probably connected us or brought us closer, which is amazing.
I started the podcast in the summer of 2018. And I am a different person now.
How have you changed since 2018? Maybe you have changed this year!
And that’s totally cool by you, right?
Then vs now
In 2018, the podcast was a vehicle to connect with close friends 1-1 and discuss a newer way of working. And now, I see it more as a way to build community.
This all sounds good, right?
Well, in the last few months, I have started to feel some tension around the name of the podcast.
Am I creating portfolio career-focused content during the 50+ Podcast Mixers?
If not, what type of content am I creating? Is that a problem?
Does the content I am creating now make sense to listeners of the show?
In July, I wrote about how the podcast content had been shifting. Recently, I polled people on Instagram and chatted with a bunch of friends about it. And then I had a pretty open and vulnerable podcast chat with Steve Schlafman about it.
In that episode with Steve, this part had been lingering with me….
Is it a problem to be solved? Is the name a problem to be solved?
As I reflect on that episode, other conversations, and what feels right to me, I don’t think it is a problem to be solved right now.
Is the name holding me back from hosting Podcast Mixers? I don’t think so!
Is the name holding me back from hosting interview-style Podcast Mixers with authors, creators, founders, etc. I don’t think so!
So, am I just spinning my wheels?? Have you ever done that?
For now, I want to focus on other things, opportunities, and problems that are more impactful and meaningful.
Is that OK by you?

Podcast Episode
This week, I published a new episode about my living situation for the last 3 years. Living with friends has changed my life! And hopefully this episode helps you learn about the benefits of it, how you can learn about people through observation, and so much more!
Create a great day,
David Nebinski, who wants to focus on problems that need to be solved
PS: here are some resources that have been helpful as I have been thinking about the podcast name:
