Have you been wondering about this? Maybe. Maybe not haha.
Either way, here is a quick update about the content of the show!
Okay so…. I still really care about Portfolio Careers. I mean, I am literally building one now, in real-time, and in public… I am working full-time, podcasting, etc.
But it seems like I have stumbled across something (special to me) with Podcast Mixers. These interactive and cozy events with a little bit of podcasting have changed my personal life and much more!
At the moment, these events and episodes feel the most energizing and alive for me. I am having fun and getting a lot of meaning from them, and the content is unique too!
So that means I should keep hosting them and recording these kind of episodes, right?
More context…
Over the last 2 years and with hosting 50+ Podcast Mixers, my ability to and interest in hosting them has been gradual, but now is very high. I tend to host a Podcast Mixer that I am excited about, curious about, and/or think people would be interested in attending. These events and episodes often produce content that is different than the 2018-2019 Portfolio Career podcast episodes that had more traditional portfolio career focused content.
Don’t get me wrong….
I still love 1-1 conversations. And 1-1 podcasts usually force me to reach out to someone new and dive deep into their work, which I still really enjoy doing and is good for me long-term.
These 1-1 conversations have changed my life. They have led to unexpected professional opportunities and much more!
But I am learning to trust my intuition more these days. You too?
So, that’s where I am at. Right here, right now. And I thought you might be curious - so I wanted to share this update for you!
Note: the actual quote from a Robert Frost poem is: “the best way out is always through.”
That’s cool, David, but what can we learn from this???
The Podcast Mixers have evolved into different formats and themes with more reps. So keep following your curiosity and instincts, and keep pulling on threads that you see and feel
doing more work and reps gives you more information to learn from, and potentially more confidence like it did for me
When you don’t have any financial stakeholders, it’s totally cool to keep trying things and figuring things out along the way
You don’t need to have *the answer* or have things 100% figured out to create, publish or ship something
When you find something that is really working for you, double-down on it
PS: what would you do if you were me? If you were to rename my podcast today, what would you call it?

#327: Organizing A Race, A Self-Actualization Framework, and Collecting Beanie Babies
A common through-line of this Podcast Mixer episode was following your curiosity. What are you really curious about these days? Let me know!
#326: Cultivating Deeper Relationships
I have been wanting to cultivate deeper relationships recently. So I hosted a small group dinner Podcast Mixer to learn more and to discuss this topic!
A few tips and suggestions mentioned to cultivate deeper relationships were hosting events, sharing a meal, showing-up, listening, and / or sending mail. Learn more here:
-David Nebinski, who really appreciates your interest and support in my podcast as it has been evolving 🫶
How cool! My sister and I were literally just talking about how we can continue to expand our “podcast” to the local community. I’ve been surprised at how many people are interested in and willing to attend podcast related in person events. Yours look so cool and I’m loving this idea of recoding people at the event. Best of luck!
